The tool temporarily replaces the headset top cap and allows us to thread said hanger alignment gauge into the lever setter, which we then use to set levers the same from one side of the bar to the other. We count on it to eliminate variables in our bike fit, as well as balance the variations in bends that metal bars sometimes have from one side to the other.
