Geartrade Hosts Gear Swap at International Climbers Festival
The International Climbers' Festival, which runs from July 15th-18th this year, is all about bringing the community of climbing together, and they have been doing so since 1994. The rich history of this festival started with the vision of legendary Todd Skinner and a few Lander, Wyoming locals in order to bring climbers from all around the world together.
As the years went on, the annual festival grew into a non-profit organization called the Central Wyoming Climbers’ Alliance (CWCA) in 2014. Under this mission, and the funds that come from the festival each year, the CWCA is able to advocate for public lands, environmental stewardship, and support youth climbing programs in the region.
This year
Geartrade is joining the festival and hosting a gear swap. Come say hi to us at the festival! We will be set up at the Art Crawl on Thursday, the breakfast in City Park on Friday, and the Trade Fair Friday evening.
All proceeds from outdoor used gear sales will go to Salt Lake City based
Elevated Mountain Guides. Their mission is focused on fostering outdoor access that is open to everyone in the community. In addition, all left over gear from the donated items will be give to
Mountains Without Borders. This organization works with at-risk youth to bring them resources for their youth climbing programs across the Americas.
We are so thrilled to be a part of these movements to bring more people together in the outdoors.
