GT: April Gear Roundup
Spring is moving forward, full steam ahead. Here in Utah, we’re embracing multi-sport days involving biking, climbing, and skiing/boarding. (We call it a Wasatch Triathlon.) Energized by the extra hours of sunshine, we’re dawn patrolling and dusk patrolling around work in our bustling warehouse, where we’re busily working to
keep the UnNew gear market flowing.
Plenty of spring items, from cycling apparel to climbing gear, are comin’ in hot. Meanwhile, winter is far from over, especially if you’re into backcountry skiing/boarding or springtime ski mountaineering. Here’s a quick roundup of the goodies we’ve got on our shelves at the moment.
It’s not too late in the season to think about new boots—in fact, by now you’ve learned that your last pair is either packed out or maybe doesn’t fit quite right. No worries, because we have plenty of resort skiing, snowboarding, and ski touring boots listed right now, in addition to
boot liners that can give your existing packed-out boots a new lease on life.
You can also find touring equipment like climbing skins, beacons, shovels, and probes, plus packs to stow it all in. And keep an eye out for nice spring clothing and outerwear, like light
softshells,
wind shirts,
gloves, and tech tees for
men and
women.
Casual spring clothing
Are we the only ones who feel *quite* liberated the first time we put on shorts each spring? Same goes for the feeling of rolling out in a t-shirt on the first balmy-warm day after months clad in layers of sweaters and fleece.
Now is spring clothing’s time to shine, so have a look-see at the latest listings from brands like Lululemon, Prana, Patagonia, Horny Toad, Toad & Co., Carve Designs, Columbia, Under Armor, and more. It’s the perfect time to freshen up your wardrobe for around-town, apres-bike, and evening cookouts.
Footwear for every sport
From mountaineering boots to flip-flops, we’ve got a lot in supply right now. Have a peek at boots from brands like La Sportiva, Scarpa, and Vasque for your upcoming climbing and mountaineering objectives. Then wander over to our bike shoes section for anything you might need for your spring trail time or road time. Then, you’d be remiss to not have a peek at casual and cross-over shoes like flip-flops and Chacos.
We know, we know. It’s very exciting—the trails are drying out to the perfect springy tackiness. And the canyon roads are at primo temperatures for long sunny rides. It’s bike time.
Start prepping for proper bike season by treating yourself to a nice, UnNew pair of shorts, a jersey or jacket, or a great comfy pair of bike gloves. There are plenty of brands in stock, ranging from Specialized to Louis Garneau—and style-wise, there’s a little something for everyone.
Then give your bike a good inspection and consider what parts might need replacement or upgrade. We’ve got it all, from tires and tubes to brake pads and brackets. Make little switcheroos before conditions are prime so you’ll be ready to charge.
Spring forward–and let us know how it goes!
Prepare thyself for fantastic spring adventures, and be sure to let us know how it goes by tagging us in your pics with your UnNew gear. And be sure to send in gear and clothing you no longer need—someone out there would love to give it a new lease on life, and you can make a few bucks while you’re at it. (

Thanks, and happy spring-ing.
