GT Gear Roundup - Nov 2021
The season has turned, and it is game
on for winter goods. This is not a drill: we’ve reached our apex of awesome when it comes to snow sports stuff like skis, ski boots, snowboards, snowboard boots, ski/board outerwear, touring gear, packs, and accessories. Plenty of people have sent in their gently used gear for us to consign for them, and many more have just listed their items directly.
Mixed in with all that nice gently-used and worn-just-once gear are a bunch of never-owned samples from companies who needed to find a home for these items. We’re helping them out by clearing stuff from their storage shelves … and helping you find rad winter gear at a price you can be psyched about. We love a good win-win.
Here are a few highlights:
Stay dry, stay stoked: outerwear you can count on.
Ski and board outerwear comes in a million flavors—shells, insulated shells, stretchy soft shells, and puffy jackets. All are made at different weights and waterproof ratings, and with different intended uses. Whether you want a tough, hella-waterproof, insulated resort riding jacket or an ultralight, minimalist ski touring softshell with light insulation around the core and ventilating panels elsewhere … we’ve got it, and everything in between.
Current listings include deluxe outerwear from the likes of
Armada,
Helly Hansen,
Ortovox,
Dynafit, and many more. You don’t even have to limit yourself to outer layers—there’s fleece and long underwear aplenty too.

The bane of skiing is that skis themselves are expensive. However, gently used and hardly used skis are
not so expensive. That’s what we’re here for: on
Geartrade you can find a wide array of skis, ranging from fat powder skis to skinny spring skis to all-mountain chargers and everything in between. What helps more is that many of them are flat or unmounted, and many others come with bindings. Have your local shop make an adjustment or remount, and you’re good to go.
Don’t worry, snowboarders aren’t left out in the cold. In fact, there are dozens of used boards of every type on
Geartrade at this very moment. From all-mountain rigs to deep powder surfers, you can find a board of nearly any length you’re looking for—some with bindings and some without. All at better-than-new prices.. They’re
UnNew prices.
Winter accessories are piping hot.
Skis and boards get the limelight, but we all know that it’s accessories that make or break your day. If your hands are cold, or your goggles are fogging, or you can’t feel your frozen face … the whole outing is compromised.
Have a look at the many
gloves,
mittens,
goggles,
hats,
helmets, and
sunglasses on Geartrade at the moment. Many are entirely unused, and the rest are gently UnNew and waiting for a person to take them shredding as often as possible.
We can’t wrap a discussion about what we have to sell without talking about
what you have to sell. As a secondhand gear site, our stockpile relies on people like you. Take the easy route and send your stuff in consignment-style, or make a little more by listing it yourself. Either way, you can rest assured that your spare gear is heading out to its next chapter, not a landfill.
The planet depends on people like us keeping our stuff in circulation rather than constantly demanding next season’s new. This is where we can all make a positive difference … for our wallets, and for our world.
As always, let us know if you have questions about selling, and tag us in your gear’s UnNew adventures out there.
