When you are suspended halfway up a frozen pillar, the last thing you want to think about is your gear. Arc'teryx built the Alpha Bib for these high-stakes moments where the margin for error is razor-thin and the environment is relentless. Engineered from rugged N40p-X GORE-TEX Pro, these shells shrug off spindrift and gale-force gusts while letting sweat escape during intense, high-output approach climbs. Every seam is calculated to mirror the human form, with articulated knees and a seat cut for a deep reach, ensuring your movement remains fluid whether you are navigating jagged scree or technical mixed terrain. The integration of high-tenacity N155p-X reinforcements in the lower legs provides a reliable shield against errant crampon points, while the full-length side zips offer instant heat management if the sun breaks through the clouds. A thoughtful drop-seat design adds practical utility for long days on the wall, and the reinforced gaiters lock out snow, letting you focus entirely on your next tool placement. These are not merely pants; they are a sophisticated, impenetrable barrier that thrives in the places where the air is thin and the challenges are vertical.
