As the first trail shoe to feature the DNA Flash midsole from Brooks, the Catamount Trail Running Shoe is a lightweight ride designed for fast-paced performance no matter where the trail takes you. A suede reinforcement lining is paired with a half-bootie tongue to lock your foot in the shoe, and to lock out debris, while drainage points throughout the upper disperse water and sweat, saving your soles from waterlogged runs. The midsole, constructed from proprietary DNA material, is infused with nitrogen to generate what Brooks refers to as DNA Flash—an incredibly responsive composite material that feels secure and supportive on technical terrain. The outsole is surfaced with 3.5mm lugs for optimal traction when conditions on the trail turn dicey, and the neutral support is capable of tackling conditions beyond the trail at a moment's notice.
