Precision matters when the approach is long and the descent is narrow. The Black Diamond Helio Carbon 88 thrives in that transition, stripping away excess bulk to keep you moving fluidly through high-alpine terrain. By pairing a lively paulownia wood core with a sophisticated pre-preg carbon fiber layup, the design achieves a balance of featherweight efficiency on the skin track and surprising composure when you drop into firm, variable chutes. Full ABS sidewalls wrap the perimeter to handle the inevitable rock dings and hard-pack chatter, while the integrated skin clips streamline your transitions when the wind picks up on an exposed ridge.
