What Our Gearhead Experts Are Saying:
"I've worn the TX4 Evo on a lot of approaches that turned into full scrambles, and it handles the transition remarkably well. The Vibram Megagrip sole bites on everything from wet slabs to loose dirt, and the climbing-zone toe lets me step onto easier terrain without swapping shoes. The resole platform is a big deal to me—these are the kind of shoes worth maintaining long term."
The approach is half the adventure—and the La Sportiva TX4 Evo Approach Shoe is built for every unpredictable step of it. Talus fields, steep dirt, exposed scrambles, and the first moves of a route all fall within its range, making it the shoe that stays on the foot from the car to the crux. La Sportiva engineered the TX4 Evo to close the gap between trail shoe and climbing shoe, and on the ground where that gap matters most, the difference is immediately felt.
The suede leather upper conforms to the foot over time and shrugs off abrasion from rough rock contact, while the wraparound recycled rubber rand keeps the shoe's structure intact through sustained technical terrain. Underfoot, a compression-molded EVA midsole absorbs the repetitive impact of long descents, and the Vibram Megagrip sole with Impact Brake System delivers reliable traction on both the way up and the way back down. A climbing-shoe-inspired lacing system lets you dial volume precisely across the foot, and the Climbing Zone toe allows you to step onto low-angle rock with real confidence. When the sole eventually wears, the Resole Platform means the shoe's life doesn't have to end with it—a meaningful detail for anyone who puts serious miles on their gear.
Scramble harder and climb farther with the TX4 Evo Approach Shoe (DWGC8UL)
