It uses 17-denier stretch nylon with BD.dry 3-layer construction, a jersey backer, and a PFAS-free DWR finish, delivering waterproof, breathable, and windproof performance with a comfortable next-to-skin feel. Black Diamond lists the fabric at 20,000 mm waterproofness and 20,000 g per square meter per 24 hours of breathability, giving it the technical specs to handle serious rain and sustained use. Fully taped seams and a sleek YKK Conceal front zipper help seal out moisture, while zippered armpit vents allow excess heat to escape on climbs or during high-output movement. The adjustable, climbing-helmet-compatible hood and adjustable cuffs make it easy to refine the fit as conditions shift. Two zippered hand pockets provide practical storage, and the jacket packs into the wearers right-hand pocket for compact carry.
