Black Diamond’s regular sheath construction uses a 2X2 weave, giving the rope the toughness needed to stand up to repeated use while maintaining a comfortable hand feel. Purpose-built to hit the sweet spot between durability and handling, the 9.9 is not overly stiff and not too soft. It knots easily, feeds smoothly through a belay device, and still holds up to a barrage of day-in, day-out climbing.
With a 9.9 mm diameter and a rope weight of 60 g per meter, this rope is a strong choice for climbers who prioritize durability without sacrificing usability. A clearly marked half-way point makes rappels, lowering, and rope management more convenient. The rope features 26% dynamic elongation, 3.3% static elongation, a 9.4 kN impact force, and is rated for 7 factor falls.
