The crisp bite of high-altitude air disappears the moment you zip up the Stio Pinion Down Sweater. Stuffed with 800-fill goose down that feels weightless against the body, this layer masters the balance between low-profile mobility and furnace-like heat. The Pertex Quantum Ripstop fabric shrugs off jagged granite and stubborn brush, while a sophisticated moisture-resistant treatment ensures the insulation stays lofty even when the weather turns unpredictable. Whether you are stuffing it into its own internal pocket for a fast-and-light summit push or relying on its streamlined silhouette to slide easily under a shell during a mid-winter tour, it remains the ultimate companion for long days spent moving through the peaks. With secure YKK-zipped pockets to guard your essentials and a finish that handles a light drizzle with ease, this piece manages to feel as essential in the backcountry as it does during a sunrise coffee on a frost-covered porch.
