What Our Gearhead Experts Are Saying:
"I wore the Rush Trail GTX Hiking Shoe on a fast-packing trip that had me covering big miles over loose, rocky terrain, and the DST frame kept my rearfoot locked in with the kind of stability I usually only get from a mid-cut boot. The GORE-TEX kept things dry through two days of intermittent rain without ever feeling like I was overheating, and the IKS domes in the outsole absorbed enough impact on the descents that my legs felt noticeably fresher at camp than I expected."
There is a particular kind of hiker who does not want to slow down for the terrain, who wants the ground-feel and agility of a trail runner without giving up the waterproofing and stability of a real hiking shoe. Scarpa built the Rush Trail GTX Hiking Shoe for exactly that person, drawing from the proven Rush TRK GTX platform and stripping it down into a low-cut, more nimble package that moves like a shoe and protects like a boot.
The suede upper balances structure and flexibility, and the 3D Auto-Fit ankle collar uses stretch fabric to conform to the ankle for a comfortable, supportive fit right out of the box. Underfoot, the PRESA HIK-02 outsole places IKS impact-absorbing internal domes at key ground contact points, functioning as mechanical shock absorbers that take the edge off on long rocky descents. SuperGum rubber ties the outsole together with grip that holds on wet and dry surfaces alike, while the DST frame supports the arch and wraps both sides of the heel for rearfoot stability and torsion control on uneven ground. GORE-TEX waterproofing handles the weather side of things, keeping feet dry without sacrificing the breathability that makes a full day on trail feel comfortable rather than suffocating.
The Rush Trail GTX Hiking Shoe brings hiking boot protection in a nimble low-cut package (DWGC9XI)
