What can I send in?

We accept outdoor gear and apparel in good (or better) condition that is fully functional and less than five years old. Please read our full list of what we do and do not accept before sending us your gear

How should I prep my gear?

Please make sure your gear is clean and check for any damage as best as you can. Smelly, unwashed, and damaged gear can't be sold, so make this your first order of business. Here's a full rundown of how to prep your gear. If you’ve already created listings for these items on our peer-to-peer marketplace, please delete them if you are going to send them in for consignment.

How do I send my gear in?

Our free shipping labels are powered by FedEx. Simply print the label, put your stuff in a box or bag (we supply one if you need it), and drop off your package at any FedEx location/dropbox, Walgreens, or Dollar General. Find your nearest drop off location.

How + when do I get paid?

When your gear sells, your earnings will go into your Geartrade account after the 14 day return window has passed. You can Cashout at any time to your Venmo, PayPal, or use your earnings to shop the site with your store credit. You can update your preferred method of payout here.

How much will I get paid?

The more your gear is worth, the more you will make. Your payout is determined by the selling price and the payout chart above. For example, if your items sells for $145, you'll receive 50% of that price = $72.50. You can always view your payout on your past items page.

How do you price my gear?

Our goal is to get you as much money for your gear as possible while selling it quickly. When we receive your gear, we'll assess its value and suggest a price based on its condition and retail price. We will send you an email with our suggested price, at which point you will have the option to change that price for up to 48 hours.

After your gear has been listed for 200 days, we'll send you another email with the following options:

  1. Donate — Donate your gear to a good cause and get the tax deductible write-off
  2. Send Back — We can send your gear back to you. (You will be responsible for return shipping costs)

If no action is taken after 230 days, we'll donate your gear. Don't worry, we'll send you plenty of emails beforehand so you're fully aware. We work with various nonprofits that help lower the barrier of entry into the outdoors. If you choose to donate, it's tax-deductible.

What if my gear doesn't sell?

If your gear doesn't sell, you have the option to have it sent back to you or donate it to a good cause. It's your choice. Once your item is donated, it can not be sent back to you as donation drop-offs are executed weekly. We work with various nonprofits that help lower the barrier of entry into the outdoors. If you choose to donate, we'll email you a tax-deductible receipt for your records.

What are my guarantees?

Once your gear is in our hands, you have full protection. If an order is lost or stolen, we cover you 100%. If an order is returned, we will place your item for sale again and once it sells, we pay you.
