"Probably fishing on the Madison River...especially if the weather is bad because no one else will be out and the clouds/snow kind of reflect the light after the sun sets so you can see for longer. It's really quiet and peaceful like a liminal space.

"My favorite is Fifth Water Hot Springs. The views are insane and the hike in literally feels like you're walking through a winter wonderland."

"My favorite spot during the winter is the Middle Provo River, it is a great place to fly fish during the winter. Despite the cold weather, the dry fly fishing is some of the best fishing of the year; it is rare for fish to eat dry flies during the winter, but the Middle Provo is an exception and it is not rare to have a 20+ fish day all on dry flies. In addition to the great fishing, the crowds are almost non-existent as the cold weather will either deter people from coming down to the river...or they'll be skiing at the resorts."

"My favorite winter spot is a network of geothermic vents near Mammoth. The hot springs there have majestic views of the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains, and they are only around 20 minutes away from the town of Mammoth. A perfect way to end a long day of hooting and hollering at Mammoth. Side note: It is one of the best locations to watch meteor showers. Sorry no geotag ;) "

"I've been named the Desert Rat for a reason...truly anywhere warm where I can sit on a rock in the sun is where I want to be during the winter. Southern Utah, Nevada (which are so close if you live in Utah), or a beach somewhere( a gal can dream) ...any place where there are guaranteed temps around 50 degrees or more you can count me in. But if I begrudgingly had to pick something cold, probably Kettle Moraine State Forest for XC skiing."
