With a heritage of hard-hitting gravity and motocross protection, the Troy Lee Designs A-1 MIPS Helmet provides bomber protection in a lightweight package to top off epic enduro runs and technical trail adventures. Featuring the same extended coverage at the back of the head and around the temples as the standard A-1, the A-1 MIPS steps the game up a notch with the inclusion of the Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) system.

What makes MIPS so special is its ability to diffuse rotational energy produced by impacts at oblique angles. MIPS consists of a strategically anchored, thin liner on the inside of the helmet that looks exceptionally simple, but serves a big purpose. That little liner is designed to move independently of the helmet shell, so it lets the shell slide across your head in order to redirect impact force.

The A-1 MIPS also boasts a heap of features to keep you cool and comfortable. A total of 16 large vents provide ample cooling airflow and encourage constant air movement across your dome. A removable, soft and plushy Coolmax liner sits comfortably against your head, fending off the stink produced by bacteria. Not to ignore fit, the A-1 MIPS helmet incorporates three-position adjustable stabilizer baskets and a cam-lock adjustable stabilizer for a custom, easily dialed fit.
