Black Diamond built their Alpenglow Pro Hoody for exposed mountain days when sun protection needs to work as hard as the rest of the kit. The hoody delivers UPF 40+ coverage and uses a nylon stretch jersey fabric made from 92% nylon and 8% elastane at 158 gsm, giving it a light, mobile feel. A durable water repellent finish made without intentionally added PFAS adds another layer of weather readiness for changing conditions. The elasticized hood is sized to fit over a helmet, which makes the piece especially useful on technical terrain and long alpine missions. A harness-compatible cut helps it layer cleanly without bunching in critical zones. Thumbloops help keep the sleeves in place when reaching, layering, or pulling on gloves. Black Diamond also added a zippered chest pocket for small valuables and HeiQ Pure treated underarm mesh panels to support breathable, fresher all-day wear. At 189 grams, this hoody brings together sun coverage, light weather resistance, and climbing-ready function in a streamlined layer built for big days outside.
