Black Diamond built their Deploy Down 1.0 Hoody for fast mountain days when warmth has to come along without taking over the pack. Their ultralight shell uses 10D by 7D nylon ripstop with a PFAS-free DWR finish to help shed light weather while keeping the piece highly compressible. Inside, they use 800-fill Allied HyperDRY goose down, with a listed fill weight of 3.9 ounces, to deliver loft that stays useful in damp, unsettled conditions. An insulated hood with a single-pull adjustment adds quick protection when wind picks up on belays, ridgelines, or cold approaches. Their layout includes two zippered hand pockets and a zippered chest pocket, so small essentials stay secure while moving through technical terrain. When the layer is no longer needed, it packs into a pocket and includes a carabiner clip loop for easy attachment to a harness or pack. At 304 grams, this is their highly packable insulating layer for climbers and alpine travelers who want low bulk, reliable warmth, and weather-ready details.
