It is built with BD.dry 3L waterproof, breathable, and windproof technology, using a stretch 40-denier nylon face fabric with a PFAS-free DWR finish for dependable storm protection. A jersey backer helps the shell regulate comfort as effort levels rise and fall, so it stays more versatile across long approaches, climbs, and weather windows that refuse to settle. Black Diamond redesigned the fit for improved range of motion and built in pack-friendly movement features, including a lowered neckline and shoulder construction meant to move more naturally on the trail or route. The shell also includes fully taped seams, an adjustable climbing-helmet-compatible hood, adjustable cuff tabs, and YKK Aquaguard zippers for a more complete weatherproof setup. Two chest pockets, two hand pockets, one interior stash pocket, and pit zips round out the storage and ventilation package for demanding alpine use. At 304 grams, their Highline Stretch Shell delivers lightweight 3-layer protection with stretch, mobility, and mountain-ready detailing for users who need one shell to cover a wide range of conditions.
