The shell uses ultralight nylon ripstop reinforced with Liquid Crystal Polymer, giving this expedition-minded piece extra toughness for abrasive alpine use. Inside, 800-fill goose down delivers the kind of high-loft insulation that feels more like sleeping-bag warmth than standard outerwear. The adjustable hood is built to fit over a climbing helmet, and the two-way YKK Vislon front zipper makes belay access easier without giving up protection. Internal stretch cuffs, single-pull adjustments at the hood and hem, and articulated sleeves help keep warmth in while preserving mobility. Black Diamond also packed in serious storage with two zip hand pockets, a zip chest pocket, and two internal drop pockets for gloves, bottles, and bulky essentials.
