They build the outer with brushed cotton flannel and line the body with recycled polyester sherpa fleece for a noticeably warmer feel than a traditional flannel. In the sleeves, they use nylon lining, which helps the shirt slip easily over base layers and bulkier midlayers. Their snap-front closure keeps the look simple and the layering process quick when heading from town to trail or from the parking lot to the boulders. A single chest pocket adds everyday utility without complicating the clean design. Black Diamond also gives it a roomy, slightly boxy fit that leaves space for hoodies and heavier layers underneath.
