Made with heavier ripstop nylon than other synthetically insulated jackets by Marmot, the Calen sports a thicker skin to better fend off insults from rocks and pointy twigs. The Calen prefers the sun, but will protect you from light spitty rain, as well as wind that portends the next cold front from Canada. Insulated with Marmot's proprietary Thermal R insulation, this jacket will keep you warm and dry whether you're working the valet station, working your way up a hill in the Rockies, or layering for extreme warmth on powder day where the high is -10, without the wind.

Zippered hand pockets will hold your keys and phone, or just your gloved hands. A zipped chest pocket will hold your ID and credit card, or an extra energy gel for the last mile of scree-scrambling to the summit. The brushed tricot lining on the collar keeps your chin toasty even when the nylon shell is a bit brittle with cold, and the elastic drawcord hem keep the wind from creeping up your back. Angel wing design lets you raise the roof whether you're reaching for a pitch or doing the wave. You wear a one-piece during the summer, so why would you show your tummy when it's winter?
