The skin track steepens, but your stride remains fluid and rhythmic thanks to the Fischer Travers CS. With an 80-degree range of motion, the Active Cuff mimics the natural mechanics of your ankle, making those grueling thousand-foot climbs feel like a casual morning walk. Once you crest the summit and rip the skins, the transition is instantaneous—a single flip of the slider buckle locks the carbon-reinforced Grilamid cuff into a rigid, responsive downhill machine. The magic lies in the Lace Frame and BOA Fit System, which pull the shell snugly against your foot without creating the biting pressure points common in traditional boots. Weighing in at a mere 2 pounds 2 ounces, this setup disappears on your feet while providing the edge control needed to navigate tight couloirs or wide-open alpine bowls with total composure. When the route requires a scramble over frozen rock, the full rubber sole bites into the terrain with absolute authority, ensuring that the final push to the peak is as secure as the descent is exhilarating.
