The first chairlift reaches the summit just as the clouds break, revealing a chaotic landscape of wind-buffeted ridges and morning corduroy. Dropping into the Kastle MX98, you immediately feel the dampened, planted sensation that only a masterfully tuned sandwich sidewall construction can provide. Beneath your feet, the blend of silver fir and beech, reinforced with dual layers of Titanal, translates every ounce of intent into precise edge engagement, even when the surface turns from buttery groomers to chattered, frozen hardpack. The signature Hollowtech 3.0 window in the shovel significantly trims swing weight, allowing for quick, intuitive pivots in tight trees or bumpy, sun-baked chutes.

TECH SPECS

  • Exceptional handling in powder, combined with impressive frontside performance. The running surface gains about 48% in comparison with a classic frontside ski
  • Ski Geometry: The ELLIPTICAL RADIUS enables sharp and sporty turns at slower speeds, while still allowing for stable and confident, wide-open turns when conditions permit
  • Wood Core: The MX98 strives for more versatile performance and, as such, a mix of ash and silver fir is used to construct the wood core. This combination offers weight savings without compromising stability
  • Features: With a 0.5 titanal base sheet and a 0.5 mm titanal top sheet, stability is optimized with a minimal weight increase. The HOLLOWTECH at the shovel delivers further weight reduction
  • A 45°aluminium bevel at the surface of the ski distributes impacts and protects against mechanical wear
  • Dimension (Tip/Waist/Tail): 126/98/116 mm
  • Turning Radius: 18 m
