Petzl designed its Meteor Climbing Helmet to keep you safe while you climb, but placed a premium on comfort and ventilation. The first thing you might notice is how many ventilated slits there are for maximum air circulation to help cool your head on the hottest days on the mountain. Petzl used polycarbonate for the shell in order to keep it both lightweight and ready to absorb impact, and the helmet's polystyrene liner is breathable, comfortable, and tough as they come. The Meteor is designed to sit stably on your head, with a flat headband that cinches around your brain bucket for a killer fit and folds into the helmet for easy travel. The adjustable chin strap has a magnetic buckle so you can clip it on with one hand. Petzl also designed the Meteor to be compatible with a headlamp or Petzl's Vizion eye shield, so you'll be ready to send whatever route comes your way, even if it's dark outside.
