Granite dust, damp ferns, and the relentless pull of a high-alpine pass demand gear that doesn’t blink when things get rough. Mountain Hardwear built the Basin Trek Short to thrive in those messy, middle-of-nowhere moments, utilizing a heavy-duty nylon blend that shrugs off jagged rock and encroaching brush. The fabric offers just enough give to let you move fluidly through steep, technical scrambles, yet the cut remains sharp enough to transition seamlessly to a post-hike meal in town. With a secure zippered pocket tucked away for your essentials and a construction that prioritizes long-term resilience over fragile tech, these shorts are the reliable backbone of a kit meant for constant movement.
