The sun beats down on exposed ridgelines and sun-baked talus fields, but the Equinox Cape Cap by Outdoor Research turns that harsh glare into a non-issue. Engineered with a nimble blend of nylon and spandex, this piece moves with you rather than against you, offering the kind of effortless airflow that keeps your head cool when the temperature climbs and the trail steepens. The integrated cape provides critical skin coverage without the bulk of a heavy hat, effectively locking out UV rays while the moisture-wicking internal band pulls sweat away before it becomes a distraction. Its flexible brim is designed to be stuffed into a pack pocket and bounce back to form the moment you pull it out, making it the perfect companion for long, self-supported treks where every ounce counts and gear needs to perform under pressure. Whether you are navigating a exposed scramble or moving quickly through high-altitude meadows, this cap balances rugged weather resistance with a soft, quick-drying feel that stays comfortable from the first light of dawn until the final mile.
