Frost clings to the trailhead sign as the first light of dawn hits the ridge, but the biting alpine air barely registers when wrapped in the Salomon Puffer Jacket. Engineered to thrive where the mercury drops, this piece balances high-loft warmth with a streamlined silhouette that refuses to bulk up under a pack or shell. The synthetic insulation stays reliably cozy even when damp, making it a dependable companion for unpredictable shoulder-season treks or long, gusty belays on granite faces. With a fabric feel that is supple enough for natural movement yet sturdy enough to resist snags in the brush, it transitions effortlessly from a mid-layer during high-output climbs to a stand-alone shield while sipping coffee at a frozen lookout. It is the kind of quiet, functional gear that lets the landscape take center stage while keeping the focus on the summit ahead.
