The frost is already settling on the trailhead, but you’re just getting started. This Smartwool pullover thrives in the transition between high-output lung-burners and the biting chill of a ridgeline, thanks to an innovative knit construction that maps your body’s microclimate in real-time. Instead of choosing between insulation and airflow, you get both woven directly into the fabric; specialized mesh zones open up when you start to heat up, while denser Merino wool sections hold onto core warmth during static belays or mid-trail pauses. Because the entire piece is built using seamless 3D engineering, it moves with the fluidity of a second skin rather than a traditional garment, eliminating the friction and bunching that usually interrupts a smooth stride.
