What Our Gearhead Experts Are Saying:
"I wore the Trail 2650 Mesh Hiking Shoe on a long day hike that covered a mix of dusty switchbacks and wet creek crossings, and the Vibram Megagrip outsole handled both without hesitation. The mesh upper kept my feet cool through the exposed ridge sections where heat tends to build up fast, and the EXO Heel System locked my heel down so well that I never once felt the slipping that usually shows up on steep descents."
Some hikes ask you to move quickly, covering ground before the afternoon heat settles in or pushing to reach camp before dark. Danner built the Trail 2650 Mesh Hiking Shoe for that pace, drawing inspiration from the 2,650 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail and the versatility that kind of distance demands. The mesh and textile upper keeps airflow moving around the foot while the breathable mesh lining pulls heat away, so even on long, exposed stretches, the shoe stays comfortable rather than stifling.
The PlyoGo EVA midsole keeps the overall weight low without sacrificing the underfoot cushioning that matters on rocky ground, and the Trailguard TPU shank runs through the midsole to provide torsional stability and protection when the trail gets rough and unpredictable. The Vibram 460 outsole brings self-adapting lugs and Megagrip rubber to the equation, locking into wet and dry surfaces with the kind of confidence that lets you focus on the trail ahead instead of the ground beneath you. The EXO Heel System and DT-6 last round out the fit, holding the heel secure and offering a slightly wider forefoot that works just as well on the trail as it does on the walk back to the trailhead.
Built for the long haul, the Trail 2650 Mesh Hiking Shoe keeps pace with your ambitions (DWGCAZH)
