The long-anticipated release of Fox's new electronic dropper is finally here. The Fox Transfer Neo Dropper Post ditches the cables to bring us their first electronic dropper post, offering a simple setup, intuitive features, and lightning-fast actuation. One of the first things we notice about the Neo is the battery placement; positioned at the collar rather than under the saddle rails, the Neo ensures more clearance at bottom-out and keeps the head design the same as their cable-actuated posts. In fact, many of the new features released on Fox's new cable-actuated dropper trickled over to the Neo, giving us updated internals, a shorter stack height, adjustable air pressure, and longer travel lengths. However, unlike the new Transfer posts, the Neo is not travel adjustable and does not come in the longest 220mm drop. This post is available in three diameters and travel lengths from 100mm to 200mm to fit a wide range of riders. The new lever offers a very short lever throw, which makes it easy to fine-tune our drop for varying descents and climbs, while the super-fast actuation returns the saddle to a climbing position faster than any other electronic dropper on the market. The Neo even comes with its app, which we can use to access intuitive features like Bike park mode, which disables the dropper on descents, and Transport mode, which disables the "shake to wake" function to preserve our battery life when driving to the trailhead. Other neat features of the app include a service life counter, which relies on post-actuations (8000) instead of the vague statistic of how many hours we have ridden, as well as pairing other electronic components, which may be a hint that Fox is working on other electronic suspension components that use the same NEO battery.
